Battles

I know I am a Christian. I see and experience the awesome things that Christ does in my life and heart. I also know that I am still a sinner. It seems that every time I turn around there is another this to deal with. I guess he wasn't joking when he said that we have to battle against sin. You know the feeling when you are in the middle of winning a battle over sin and all of a sudden there is a completely different area of your life you need to battle? I look at so many amazing women of faith and see that there walk with the Lord is founded upon getting to know Him better. I am becoming more aware of my desiring this world and the pleasure it has to offer before the pleasure of sitting at the Kings feet. Sometime I think...seriously Katie, what is wrong with you...you should be able to not do that...you should be able to over come that sin. I am realizing that when I am weak to attack and slow to win a battle is because I was not going to my Lord and Savior for the strength and wisdom I needed to win the battle.

This is my prayer...

Lord, as I walk through this life. As I try to please you and bring glory to your name. Draw me closer to you in every way. Help to me hunger, thirst and desire you more than anything this life has to offer. Lord help me to win the battles that you allow me to fight. I praise you for them. That you bring things in my life that purify me like gold. You are an amazing God.

oktoberfest fun

This last weekend was Oktoberfest and I was able to spend the weekend with my mom and brother. On Friday we went down to the fair grounds and had a beer and listened to the polka music. It was amazing weather and a ton of fun! I was also able to have much needed mom time. You know when you are home when you feel so safe just to be yourself and let the things that have been building up inside of you to flow out. I am so thankful that I have a mom who will not just listen to my woes, but she is always wanting to do something to help or fix it(even when this gets me mad) it shows me how much she loves me.

With fall comes those sore throats and runny noses. I guess I am no exception to that tradition. Thankfully I was also able to get almost 12 hours of sleep last night...I feel asleep at 7:30 (that is a record)!
